About the Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo
Our goal is to make the Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo the premier annual event to help raise the bar for Delaware's and the Delaware Valley's health profile by promoting health awareness and providing a forum to showcase the many opportunities and ways an individual and family can take responsibility for their health and wellness.
The Sixth Annual Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the DoubleTree in Downtown Wilmington, Delaware from 9 am to 1 pm. As part of this year’s Expo, we will be holding a mini-#MILLSUMMIT virtual conference, which will be focused on various health & wellness topics.
Prior to COVID-19 and in our last event (in January 2020), the health fair and accompanying indoor triathlon drew more than 900 attendees through the door. Many of the attendees were sports and fitness enthusiasts, athletes, runners, bikers, rowers, youth, and other supporters of area nonprofits and businesses. In addition to the triathlon participants and spectators, many members of the general public also attended.
At the January 2022 event, we will be following all national, state, and local health protocols and guidance to ensure and safe experience for all of our exhibitors and attendees and the exhibitors will be appropriately spaced throughout are expo area. Based on our experience over the past few months and in speaking with other event organizers, we are conservatively planning for a steady stream of 250-500+ to attend this year’s health expo. To boost awareness, we will be heavily promoting it across multiple channels, including print and social media. In addition to the health fair exhibitors, this year’s Expo will feature organizations who are actively hiring (a job fair ) as well as those organizations offering summer camp programs for those families with young children (a summer camp fair). We believe the addition of a job fair and summer camp fair component to the Expo will also draw a larger cross section of the Wilmington, New Castle County, and surrounding communities.
The #MILLSUMMIT helps connect young professionals with leadership and professional development and networking opportunities. The annual conference, held in August, brings together young and seasoned professionals from around the country to network, connect, and learn from each other and from dozens of speakers and industry experts around various leadership, professional development, personal development, entrepreneurship, and other topics. As part of the Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo, we will be holding a mini-#MILLSUMMIT virtual event, which will focus on health & wellness topics. More details about this Health & Wellness focused #MILLSUMMIT event will be shared later this fall. Attendees of the health fair will be invited to watch the #MILLSUMMIT sessions and vice versa.
